They Could Not Deny It

I was thoroughly captured by the article I read recently. It was about The Uncontainable Christ, written by Robert Clements. As my daily reading is on Acts, I was able to relate well to what he was talking about. It was a call to ask Christians to be daring enough to face anyone or any law that tries to stop them from sharing the good news.

The same scenario of people trying to stop the disciples can be seen in Acts 4. As I was writing in my previous blog, when we have the Holy Spirit in us, we cannot compress the good news, but we will be compelled to share.

And what happened when Peter and John shared the good news, as in Acts 4? They tried to stop them by threatening them. And when they saw that in Jesus' name they had done a miracle and the man who was healed was standing near them, they found no way to punish them.

Like the Bible verse says, like a lion, Satan will come after people to devour. Yes, Jesus Christ is the Lion of Judah. Satan can imitate as if he is powerful. He can try threatening us through laws. But may we know that we are waging the battle from the side of victory.

Like Robert Clements says, "You cannot frighten a God who has already defeated death."

In chapter 4, verse 16, it says, "What shall we do to these men? For, indeed, that a notable miracle has been done through them is evident to all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it."

I love how the verse ends here. It says they can't deny the truth that is before them. May God be so evident in our lives that no one can deny the presence of the living God. May people learn and witness the power of God that is displayed in our lives. May we, our family, and our church be the signs and wonders of God on display. May the Uncontainable Christ reach others through us.

Dear God, may we be a reflection of the uncontainable love and power of Jesus Christ. May You increase in us. Cover us, Lord, as the waters cover the sea. May people who look at us tell, "There is no way to deny the presence of Jesus, the Son of God." In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
