The Truth That Silences the Lie

How beautiful and powerful it will be if we wear the armour of God. A soldier who is going to war will wear the armour of the army. Every army officer from a country carries a different set of equipment based on their training. I love it when the Bible calls us to wear the armour of God. It is not an Indian army dress, not an Israeli army armour, but that which is of God. Our God has a name which always gives me goosebumps when I say it. It is the Lord of Hosts, or "the Lord of Armies." And when He calls us to wear the armour of God, how amazing it is. As His kingdom's citizens, we wage a war with the ruler of this world. The Bible says the weapons of our warfare are not of this world; they are mighty through God. And our armour has the divine quality.
We are supposed to wear the belt of truth. The belt is supposed to hold us together. One of the strongest pieces of equipment that the devil uses against us is lies. The Bible calls him the father of lies. And the opposite of a lie is the truth. When we are filled with truth, it will hold us together.
It was a tough time for me when I went through the loss of my baby, and I always had a thought in a corner of my mind, nudging itself and trying to put down the faith I had in God. It goes like this: "God could have saved my child if He had wished." And when, as a good Christian, I uttered the Bible verse which says, "The Lord gave and the Lord took away," it pierced my heart.
Before the magnitude of the loss, my faith in the goodness of God was weakening. Through many things, God was trying to talk to me. I understood Him fully only when I got an invitation to visit our family friend and a pastor in Chennai. Till then, I was not able to understand the attack the enemy was trying to make on my mind.
When that pastor started telling me about the goodness of God by quoting the verse, "There is no darkness in Him," he clearly put things into place. When my mind started understanding that, I was able to kick the nudging thought, or the lie, that was troubling me. My tears started rolling down when I understood how much I am being loved by my Heavenly Father. I was able to run back to my ever-loving Father, who can never do anything to hurt me.
Hey friend, what are you fighting with? I pray that God will reveal it to you. Is the path of loss, or lack, or wilderness breaking you? Take the armour of God. Stand in truth.
Dear God, I praise You for how beautiful You are. I cannot imagine or comprehend the love You have for me and each of us. May You strengthen our inner man. May we always wear Your armour. May we be victorious in the battle we are in. Be with us, dear Lord. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
