Pearls from the Bible 59

The Lord God always has a good plan for those who respect and obey Him completely. In Genesis 7, verse 16 says, "Then the Lord shut the door behind Noah." Before that, He gave instructions to gather food for his family and for all the birds and animals that were with Him.

When we are surrounded by rain, flood, and storm, the Lord keeps the doors shut. We, the Chennaiites and the Tutucorians, Tirunelvelian people, had a firsthand experience of facing the storm, and nothing felt safer than the closed doors with enough food without rain invading the home. The Lord God shuts the door sometimes to keep us safe. We pray for open doors, but when we look back, the doors that were shut by Him are for greater good. Genesis Chapter 8, verse 1 says, "God had not forgotten Noah and all the animals with him in the boat. He caused the wind to blow, and the waters started going down." After He shuts the door, He cares enough to work on your behalf, to make you come out and live. When He opens the door again(a new beginning), like Noah, let's build an altar and sacrifice that which pleases Him.

Dear God, thank you for the doors you have shut to protect us. Thank you, Lord, for the open doors you have for us. In Jesus' name, we thank. Amen.
