"When the Lord is with you, He will do powerful things through you. In Isaiah 41, God says He is the one who determines the course of history (verse 4). He determines who should conquer the kings and the nations. When God determines to help a man to conquer, He strikes his enemy like dust with His arrow, scattering the enemy like straw before the wind. He makes him follow the pursuit and march safely (verse 3). None can stop him from moving forward. God cannot be controlled by time; He Himself is at the beginning and the end.This God Himself chooses us to be His people and says, 'Do not be afraid, I am with you! I am your God—let nothing terrify you' (verse 10).
This God, who helps the conqueror (Israel, us), says He knows that He is. He will strengthen us, help us, protect us, save us, and shame those who are angry at us with defeat (verse 11). He makes them as nothing, making His chosen one like a threshing board with sharp and new spikes. He now says we will thrash mountains and destroy them as dust. Verse 16 says, 'You will be happy because I am your God. You will praise me, the Holy God of Israel.' God will answer our prayers when we are in need.May the Lord our God fulfill all the above in our lives in this new year.
Dear God, thank you for your powerful presence in our lives. Thank you for going to make us strong and sharp. Let us not be afraid of the unknown. May we know the One who is the beginning and the end is with us, to protect, save, strengthen, and make us victorious as conquerors. Thank you for answering our prayers. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
