Pearls from the Bible 44

God, through His prophets, revealed His plans to mankind. His plans are for us to get saved from darkness. Salvation is definitely not a gift that we can take lightly; it is the most expensive, valuable gift any human can receive. We are living in a fallen world, where pitfalls and destructive paths that can make us stumble can be found everywhere.

When Simeon saw child Jesus, he said the following: "In Luke chapter 2 verses 30 to 32," he says, "with my own eyes I have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the presence of all peoples: A light to reveal your will to the Gentiles." Do we have this light in us, the light(God's word) that expels darkness? Jesus said, "The eyes are the lamp for the whole body; if our eyes are dark, our whole body will be dark.

Yes, it is possible for us to have darkness in some places which like parasite that spreads across the whole body. In order to cut the darkness. We should drench ourselves fully with the word of God.

Are we able to see salvation, or are we seeing the acts of darkness in us? In this Christmas season, let us choose light over darkness. Let our eyes see salvation (Jesus) like how the eyes of Simeon saw.

Dear God, may with our eyes let us always see light and keep it fixed on your salvation. May your light fill our whole being. Let it bring glory to you. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
