Remembering God in the Dark Nights

What would it be if God pictures you, your thoughts, what you are going through, and shows it back to you? Many of us must have experienced the same during our Bible reading time. Because, our Bible is the living word of God. It speaks to us personally.
Let God speak to us through psalm 77. It talks about a person who was not able to get comforted. The psalmist had encountered days which made sleep far away from his eyes. He was pouring out his heart with all its doubts and questions. He was not making up some act of strength. He shows his complete vulnerability before God.
After posing all his painful thoughts and questions to God, he says something very beautiful. I love the Tamil version of the verse:
அப்பொழுது நான்: இது என் பலவீனம்; ஆனாலும் உன்னதமானவருடைய வலதுகரத்திலுள்ள வருஷங்களை நினைவுகூருவேன்.
As humans, we are wired to get depressing thoughts when disastrous loss hits us. But though we have that weakness, the psalmist forces himself to remind himself of the good days that he received from God. He remembered the days when God had done miracles in the past.
When we want to exhaust ourselves with crying and mourning, the Bible teaches us to praise God for His goodness unto us. It is indeed not easy to practice. But as insane as it sounds to our minds, it is the most sane thing we could ever do.
Because our God is someone who never changes. Through all our times, both good and bad, He remains the same—faithful in keeping His promises, faithful in going forth and making ways, faithful in carrying us through and out of every tough challenge. He is there as our faithful Father.
Instead of quoting a single verse, I would like to share the entire psalm here.
Here is Psalm 77 (KJV) in full:

Hey friends, when going through the paths that break you, remember Psalm 77. Be assured He knows the whole picture, and He holds you tightly and will bring praise one more time through your own mouth through the pain.
When you have sleepless nights try remembering His goodness.
Dear God, we submit our tough times into Your hands. Make us resilient, Lord. Be the master of our minds, Lord. May we never forget but praise You, because You are the same God who has parted the Red Sea for us in the past. May we be assured and be covered in Your loving presence. May You cover us all around with Your love. May we hold Your comforting hand and walk out of this situation which seems unbearable. We trust You and praise You with everything we have. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
