Pearls from the Bible 72

I have two questions today: What does the Lord require to save a city, and with whom does the Lord not hide His plans? When the Lord came to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, the twin cities, Abraham interceded with the Lord. Genesis 18 verse 32 says, "He said, 'I will not destroy it if there are ten.'" The Lord requires ten men who are righteous before His eyes to turn away the wrath that will destroy the city. May the Lord find us as one among the ten. Intercede with the Lord for your city, state, and country so that it will be saved.

The Lord knew that Abraham would tell his children and his generation about the works of the Lord and the ways of the Lord. The Lord trusted Abraham with that and wanted to reveal His plans to Abraham. In verse 19 the Lord says, I have chosen him in order that he may command his sons and his descendants to obey me and to do what is right and just. If they do, I will do everything for him that I have promised." Can the Lord trust us with our children and our generation? Are we teaching our children the ways and works of the Lord? Do the children God has graciously given us know the Lord?

Dear God, help us to intercede for our city, state, and nation. May we be responsible to pass on the name of the Lord to our children to be adorned and worshipped. May we be found as one among the ten righteous who will stop the door of destruction that is open towards our city. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
