Pearls from the Bible 35

God, in His grace, has given us the Holy Spirit, who guides us in all truth. The book of Luke, in chapter 2, talks about a man who was led by the Spirit even before Jesus was born. This man is Simeon, who lived in Jerusalem. He heard the Holy Spirit speaking to him; the Holy Spirit was with him (Verse 25). He was walking with God. The Holy Spirit led him to whichever place he needed to be at the particular time. It was not a coincidence that he met child Jesus when his parents took him to the church. It was God's plan. He saw the child as foretold by the Holy Spirit (Verse 26). Let us examine ourselves. Are we led by the Spirit in our everyday life? Are we attentive to listening to the gentle voice of the Holy Spirit and obeying Him? One marvelous thing that could happen when we do so is that with our own eyes, we will see the prophecies told by God coming alive. He held the baby who was much bigger than the universe just because he chose to listen, obey, and live along with the Holy Spirit. Let us make a deliberate decision to walk with the Holy Spirit. May our every day be filled with obeying the voice of the Holy Spirit.

Dear God, thank you for giving us your Holy Spirit. Help us to listen to Him, be led by Him, and be amazed every day by His wonderful leading. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
