Pearls from the Bible 26

"Queen Sheba is one of the smart queens we can see in the Bible. She wants to challenge Solomon's wisdom and test his understanding. She found out she was no match for his wisdom. She praised God in 1 Kings 10, verse 9: 'Praise the Lord your God! He has shown how pleased He is with you by making you king of Israel.' She saw the whole kingdom was filled with Solomon's wisdom; she saw by the way he had built his palace, by the way he keeps his servants. She honored the king and gave him gifts. The Queen, who does not know the Lord, praised Him when she saw His mercy and love towards Solomon. But Solomon, the most gifted one under the earth with wisdom, deliberately chose to drift himself away from God (verse 11). He became unfaithful. But the Lord was so faithful to the promise he made to his father David and spared the kingdom of Solomon. May we examine ourselves and think whether we are deliberately moving towards Him or away from Him. We might not understand ourselves, as it is a slow fade. The Lord is merciful and gracious; maybe the mercy we are enjoying is because of someone's prayer. May we take guard of our life. May we stand as a watchman in prayer and guard ourselves, our families, and our friends. May we always find grace in the eyes of the Lord who blessed us with so much. The phrase 'so much' doesn't need to mean too much wealth. Living a peaceful life with good health and friends and having a good fellowship in itself is a tremendous blessing and His grace, as all belongs to Him. May we be ever grateful and praise the Lord our God when we see goodness in our lives and in the lives of others. Dear God, we thank you for every good gift you have showered over us, our friends, and our families. May we always find favor, grace, and mercy not just because of our ancestors. May we be considered faithful by you. May all our actions praise you. May we never drift away from you. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
