"Everyone's last word on Earth will be treasured by their loved ones. I clearly remember my dad's last word; it is 'Yesuve.' Our Lord and Saviour Jesus' last cry when he was hanging on the cross is remembered by the whole world till date. That includes the words from Psalm 22:1, which says, 'My God, My God, why have you abandoned me?'When any of us go through a painful path, our first and last hope is God. It is utter hopelessness that will make you say the above words. But the same psalmist who started the Psalm like this and poured His heart about the despise and scorn he is getting from people around him finishes by saying in verse 24, 'He does not ignore the poor or ignore their suffering; He does not turn away from them, but answers when they call for help.' In verse 31, he says, 'People not yet born will be told: "The Lord saved His people."'Yes, our Lord Jesus went through everything (at the cross) as has been described in this Psalm prophetically. And Yes, He saved us. Our God has gone through everything and earned salvation for us and for the generations that are yet to be born. May the love of Christ cover us and change every hopelessness into hopefulness in our lives.May none of our suffering be unanswered as Jesus went through the same to comfort us in our sufferings.
Dear God, thank you for saving us; thank you for your sacrifice on the cross. Thank you for being our comfort when we go through suffering. May the story of salvation be told everywhere. May none we know perish but have eternal life. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
